LINEL, a favorite among gouache artists
With its exceptional pigment richness and creamy texture, LINEL Lefranc Bourgeois gouache is an iconic paint for artists, designers, graphic artists and illustrators.

The legacy of Linel Lefranc Bourgeois extra-fine gouache
The painter Henri Matisse, master and leader of Fauvism, adored Linel extra-fine gouache. While he never forgot to praise it in every interview, he also played an active role, in collaboration with chemists and researchers Lefranc Bourgeois, in the creation of Linel fixed violet. At the end of his equally exciting career, he created the “sculpture of color” by cutting and structuring vivid Linel gouache colors on paper. A revolution in modern art! ESTELLE LAGARDE
Gouache artist and designer, Estelle creates her Haute Joaillerie Horlogerie gouaches with the utmost precision, transforming Linel colors into veritable jewels on gray paper. Creative from an early age and passionate about drawing, it was in 2009 that Estelle found her passion, while training in jewelry making at the Lycée Amblard in Valence: gouache jewelry. A love affair begins, with emotion as the starting point for each creation. At the Van Cleef & Arpels design studio in Paris, then in Switzerland, Estelle cut her teeth as a jewelry gouache professional. In 2019, Estelle creates her jewelry and watch design studio and a training site dedicated to jewelry gouaché with her brother Thibaud LAGARDEJEWELRYDRAWING. After years of working with some of the world's leading jewelry and watchmakers, Estelle decided to create her own brand. Little by little, this adventure took shape, and the LAGARDE brand is no longer a pipe dream. It's with this phrase that Estelle conveys the identity of her brand: “Dreams belong to reality”.

ARIANE BUTTO
After training in graphic and textile design, some travel and personal experience, Ariane decided in 2018 to take up illustration. Ariane paints colorful, poetic landscapes in gouache, featuring exotic animals, men and women. She draws inspiration from her travels in Asia and South America, and from the works of Douanier Rousseau and Michel Ocelot. All her work is handmade. Sometimes in full color with gouache, sometimes in black and white in the style of old engravings. Based in Paris, Ariane paints for a variety of projects, including textile design, panoramic wallpapers and matchboxes. Ariane has collaborated with L'Occitane, Unicef, Fragonard, Archivist Gallery, Pascale Editions, La Thé Box, La Canopée and many others! “Small tubes of Linel gouache have been with me since the beginning: it alone guarantees colors as bright as they are joyful.

CAROLE RAMPINETTA
A textile designer and pattern-maker trained in stage costume, Carole designs unique, colorful and poetic motifs, constantly inspired by travel, nature and the folklore of different countries around the world. Creative from an early age, Carole has a passion for theater and circus arts, which she has practiced since the age of 8. Carole loves telling stories and bringing emotions to life, both on stage and with her pencils and brushes. Her illustrations are often compared to Proust's madeleines, transporting happy, meticulous and mischievous childhood memories. A lover of paper, Carole works in the traditional way with gouache, watercolor or ink. “Linel colors are the starting point for each of my creations, I use them as a real playground.”

PAWM
Self-taught, Pawm discovered painting at the age of 18, first in shades of black and white, then in color. After acrylics, watercolors and oils, Pawm turned to gouache, with which she can fully express herself. Her work is inspired by pop culture, video games, TV series and films. In 2021, Pawm launched herself on Twitch, sharing her video game lives as well as her art. That same year, thanks to the aesthetics of Studios Ghibli, Pawm tries its hand at landscape, studying live with its community. Pawm's ambition is to motivate its audience to carry out an artistic activity during the week; all productions are viewed live, and a new theme is chosen for the following week. In May 2022, Pawm is also launching the Artleague.fr website, which enables artists present on Twitch to showcase their work and have an online store. “Linel gouache has been a revelation! Its quality helps me improve my landscapes.”

MARIE DETREE
Marie Détrée was born in Saint-Malo into a family of sailors. A graduate of the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris, she was appointed official painter of the French Navy, POM, in 2010. This title entitles her to embark on all French Navy vessels, and takes her to the seas around the world. Following in the footsteps of explorers such as Mathurin Méheut, she uses gouache to record the many maritime landscapes she observes. Marie Détrée's missions can last from 5 days to 5 months, aboard ship or submarine! Linel gouache, with its unique, natural composition, is the only paint permitted on board, so the painter can transcribe her observations in her notebook. The speed of drying, the matte finish, the luminosity of the colors and the lightness of paper as a support are indispensable assets for painting during her voyages. Marie Détrée is also an author. In 2010, she published La grande ménagerie du bord, a book that immerses us in the world of the navy and its vocabulary of animal references. Painting plays a central role in this book, with no fewer than 150 gouaches.
