The Impressionist Collection: The Gardens of Giverny
On the occasion of the centenary of Claude Monet’s passing, Lefranc Bourgeois pays tribute to the Impressionist legacy with a collection of colors inspired by the Water Lilies. To embody this connection between past and present, the painter Olivier Masmonteil was invited to set up his easel in Giverny, becoming the first artist to paint there since Monet.

Olivier Masmonteil, the first artist to paint in Giverny since Monet
A recognized contemporary artist, Olivier Masmonteil dedicates his work to the exploration of landscape, which he sees as an endless subject. Between tradition and modernity, his painting celebrates light, nature, and the slow passage of time through the gaze. In 2025, he became the first artist to paint in the gardens of Giverny since Claude Monet, thus reconnecting with the spirit of the Impressionists where it all began. Invited by Lefranc Bourgeois, he offers a personal reinterpretation of the Water Lilies, in tribute to the master’s passing a century earlier. This project gave rise to the new Extra-fine Oil – Impressionist Series collection, designed to carry on Monet’s legacy through today’s artistic gestures.

The Impressionist Collection
Since 1720, Lefranc Bourgeois has supported artists by manufacturing colors and materials that have marked the history of art. The famous screw-top tube notably enabled Claude Monet to paint outdoors and give birth to Impressionism.
Today, the Extra-Fine Oil range is expanding with two new sets inspired by Water Lilies to celebrate the centenary of Monet's death. One set consists of 12 20ml tubes and a smaller set of 5 20ml colors. Made in France, these exceptional colors offer high pigment concentration, excellent lightfastness, and optimal durability.
