STEP 1 — THE SKETCH
Start by drawing the main flowers, including the poppy, with softly rounded petals. Then add smaller flowers, foliage and a few berries to complete your composition.
STEP 2 — MIXING THE COLOURS
Prepare your five LINEL gouache colours. Mix Tyrian Pink with Persian Yellow to create orange, French Blue with Tyrian Pink to create violet, and add some yellow to Meadow Green to create a lighter shade.
STEP 3 — THE FIRST FLOWERS
Paint the berries in Persian Yellow and their leaves in French Blue. Then move on to the poppy, using Carmine Red and your orange mixture. Add a little water to create lighter shades on some of the flowers.
STEP 4 — FLAT AREAS OF COLOUR
Paint the stems and leaves using your different shades of green. Fill in the other flowers with Tyrian Pink, Carmine Red and violet. Allow the flat areas of colour to dry thoroughly before adding the details.
STEP 5 — THE DETAILS
Use a fine brush to add the pistils and patterns to the petals. Paint a few veins on the leaves and add touches of yellow to brighten the flowers. Fill any remaining spaces with small colourful details.
STEP 6 — THE RESULT
And there you have it your Flower Power illustration is complete! Admire your vibrant floral composition, filled with colour and playful patterns. You dared to paint!
