Made in France, in Le Mans, Flashe is a multi-substrate vinyl paint created in 1954 for theatre sets. What could be more natural than to find it on the ceiling of an emotionally-charged performance venue?
Transformed by Mon Concept Habitation and renamed "Aux Artistes", this bar-restaurant called on Lille-based artist Tommy Knuts to bring his colourful, abstract world to life. An illustration of the ties that bind us together, and the elements that mark his life! A 27m² work of art created at Flashe.

FLASHE, THE EXTRA-FINE MULTI-SUPPORTS PAINT

Flashe combines the mattness and opacity of gouache with the indelibility and durability of acrylic on all surfaces. Its velvety, extra-fine texture, highly concentrated in pigments selected for their resistance to light, supple, fluid and full-coverage, is composed of a vinyl resin emulsion binder that can be diluted and cleaned with water. Made in Le Mans, France, Flashe extra-fine vinyl paint is available in 76 colours, including 38 single-pigment shades that are perfectly compatible with the other ranges.

PREPARATIONS FOR THE FRESCO (THIS IS A VIDEO FROM YT)

Flashe accompanied artist Tommy Knuts as he created his first fresco on a ceiling. An incredible project, 6 days perched and twisted at the top of his scaffolding, 27m² to draw and then paint. An experience as intense as the pigments that make up Flashe paint.

Tommy comes from the Opal Coast.

A graphic illustrator at Décathlon, he combines his passions for drawing and skateboarding.

Through his art, he injects colours and tangled characters that immortalise the magic of the bonds and emotions that unite us.

SKATEBOARDING AS A MEDIUM

Flashy, covering, opaque and multi-support, it can be used on any surface! Metal, ceramic, plastic, foam, polystyrene, textile, fabric, wood... and skateboards! Since 2015, Tommy has been a graphic designer at Décathlon, a clever way of combining his two passions. He uses skateboarding as a blank canvas to create a world of encounters, stories and colours.
